Teams must have four players out: three players and one goalie. Substitution is allowed as the game is going but penalties will be called for “too many on the ice”.
Each game is 25 minutes long (straight time), with two 12 minute halves. A face off at centre starts both halves. A 1 minute break will be provided between periods.
Possessions: The last player to touch the ball before going out must forfeit the ball to the opposing team at the point of exit.
Rather than a 3 minute penalty being assessed to the team we will grant a penalty shot to the individual who the penalty impeded. The clock will continue to run during these penalty shots.
Penalty shots will be awarded for any of the following infractions:
• Slashing
• Tripping
• Body Contact
• Slapshots (sticks are to remain below the waist)
• Abusive language
• Player in the Goalies Crease
• Highsticking - no sticks above the waist for any purpose
No offsides or face-offs. Whistles are only blown for infractions and to end both halves.
When a goal is scored, the team scored upon is given centre.
Goalies are not allowed to cross centre.
Tied games will result in a shoot out, whereby each player (who was on the pad at the time of the end of the game) is given a shot on net (a total of 3 shots per team) in order to break the tied game. If a tie still exists, then one shot is given to a player in turn on each team until the tie is broken.
The Head Convener has the final ruling.
We reserve the right to eject anyone and any team for questionable conduct.
In Case of emergency Three Blasts of the Whistle means clear the road surface immediatley.
